Things to do at and near El Soto de Marbella
This exclusive Spanish home rental (direct from the owner) has something for everyone. In all honesty, you do not need to go anywhere to have a great day - At El Soto you can splash in (or soak up the sun by) one of the swimming pools, play a game of golf, enjoy local food and drinks on the on-site restaurant terrace – all without leaving El Soto de Marbella.
El Soto Swimming pools
Go swimming in one of the five onsite pools. The largest (about 15 metres in length) is found right next to the apartment. Or relax in one of the sun loungers poolside.
El Soto Tennis
Two tennis courts are available to use free of charge for guests staying at the El Soto apartment. Tennis lessons are available for an extra charge.
El Soto Golf
Next to the El Soto clubhouse is the nine hole golf course, which is free to use for guests. If you don't have golf clubs, two people can share a bag of clubs for EUR10 per day.
Practice putting green and children's play area are also found next door.

However, if you decide to leave the haven of El Soto, there are plenty of other things to do around, for all level of activeness.
Restaurants
Of course you have a kitchen in the apartment where you can cook up a storm if you like – (there is a good supermarket just off the main road where you can pick up your groceries)
Golf courses
Golf. Of course. The area is world famous for the golf courses, so if you’re a fan of this game, you’re in the right place. All these courses are within the 15 minute drive radius: Santa Maria Golf and Country Club (http://www.andalucia.com/ golf/santamaria/home.htm) ; Santa Clara golf course; Greenlife Golf (also boast a Michelin starred restaurant El Lago), Marbella golf Country club, Cabopino Golf Marbella… And by the way, did we mention there is a 9 hole golf course right on the doorstep of the apartment? ;)
Beaches and local towns to visit
Beaches. Beaches are great. And beaches around Elviria are even greater. Not only Elviria beach is one of the finest sandy beaches along the Marbella coastline, and stretches for miles in both directions and has sunshine relatively all year round, but together with the nearby world famous Nikki Beach is a perfect spot for celebrity spotting. If it is good enough for them – it is good enough for us….
Other activities include tennis, mountain biking and for the real adventurers you can also try snowboarding or skiing on your visit. The snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada near Granada are clearly visible and with dail minibus returns you can experience golf and ski activities on the same holiday.

Restaurants
Of course you have a kitchen in the apartment where you can cook up a storm if you like – (there is a good supermarket just off the main road where you can pick up your groceries)
However, considering that you’re on holiday and the fact that local food is world famously good it would be a sin not to try out few restaurants while out there.
The Beach House Restaurant in Elviria boasts an impressive setting (dinner does not get any more romantic than this: under the stars - a stone’s throw from the edge of the Mediterranean )
Arte Café in Elviria has raving reviews and is worth a visit.
And, of course, if you go to Marbella (30 minutes drive away) the choice of the restaurants will blow you away. Plenty of places to try traditional local fare as well as Italian, Thai, Japanese, American, Vegetarian and Eastern European.
Locally at El Soto you have the on-site restaurant in the club house serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Within walking distance, you can also try the Kudu Bar and restaurant, serving a wide selection of dishes. The Altitude bar, right beside Kudu also does very nice pizza deals.

If you want to laze in the sun, enjoy the abundance of the beach cafes, get some colour and dip into the Mediterranean sea, you do not need our guidance.
However if you’d like to break up the beauty of beach laziness there are plenty of pursuits to get you going as Elviria boasts more activities than you could imagine.
Walks and hiking up Elviria Mountains is a popular thing to do (the penthouse itself is located in the hills). But if you want to spice your walks up, there is a Treetop Adventure Park, in Elviria at your disposal. The park offers ecologically friendly fun for all the family with numerous routes through the pine forests, with various games en-route and 20 zip lines including the superb 240m zip wire route.
About 10 minutes drive away from the penthouse there is a little town called Puerto Cabopino. Titled as the ‘best kept secret’ not only it makes a good day out, but is also a base for companies that organise dolphin watching tours as well as other boat excursions, fishing trips, Water Skiing, Bellyboard Hire, Jet skiing, Scuba diving etc.
If you’re travelling with the kids, an hour’s trip to a little Spanish village Juzcar – nowadays known as a Smurf town – might go down a treat. The whole village has been painted azure blue when it was chosen as the set for The Smurfs 3D. Locals and tourists alike liked it so much it has never been painted back in dazzling white, as is typical of southern Spain. The locals have embraced the makeover with such gusto that some dress up as giant Smurfs and hold a Smurf fair in the village square.
Marbella, Puerto Banus and Rhonda are all towns within driving distance and all well worth a visit.
Other activities include tennis, mountain biking and for the real adventurers you can also try snowboarding or skiing on your visit.
